Newfoundland is located off the East Coast of mainland Canada and if you have decided to take a trip there, you will not be disappointed.  If you have not already considered Newfoundland as a destination for a future vacation, it is worth your while to take a look into this top travel destination.  There is so much to see and do and cheap vacations to the island are very possible and numerous!

First off, let me tell you about some of the things you can see and do while visiting the island.  Iceberg viewing, whale watching, hiking, wildlife viewing, kayaking, camping and sightseeing along the rugged coast or barren interior.  While in St. John’s, take in some world-class local entertainment on world-famous George St., visit Signal Hill and Cape Spear National Historic Sites, hike the East Coast Trail, take a drive outside the city and visit Terra Nova National Park or the sandy beach at Northern Bay Sands or visit some of the many museums to learn more about the colourful history of the city.  While on the West Coast of the Island, visit Gros Morne National Park which also happens to be a world heritage site and is famous for the diverse scenery and landscapes that you will come across while driving through the park.

Many airlines fly into various airports on the island including Gander, Stephenville, Deer Lake and St. John’s.  The cheapest airlines are Westjet and Porter Airlines and if you are able to get a flight from your home city on one of these airlines, you will probably get the best deal however Air Canada and some other airlines also fly to Newfoundland and it is possible to get great deals with these airlines at certain times.  Here are some examples of cheap flights that are available from various cities in the United States:

1)      A return flight leaving Miami, Florida on October 27th and returning November 8th costs $547.00 including all taxes and fees.

2)      A return flight leaving Las Vegas, Nevada on October 29th and returning on November 8th costs $838.00 including all taxes and fees.

3)      A return flight leaving New Orleans, Louisiana on November 1st and returning November 13th costs $596.00 including all taxes and fees.

There are many places to stay in Newfoundland including numerous bed and breakfasts, hotels, resorts and cabins.  For the cheapest accommodations, hostels and campgrounds are your best bet and both are plentiful everywhere on the island.

If you prefer to have everything planned out for you before you arrive in Newfoundland, it is also possible to get all-inclusive vacations that include various items that may include your flight, hotel and even a rental car.  For example, Maxxim Vacations offers a package called A Taste of Newfoundland that costs between $1819.00 and $2649.00 depending on where you are departing from and includes return flights, seven nights accommodation, a rental car for seven days, seven breakfasts, a St. John’s City Tour among other things.  The company also offers various other Newfoundland Vacations that can choose from and there are many other travel companies that offer packages too!  In order to find one that suits your needs, search on the internet for cheap vacations in Newfoundland and keep checking until you find the one you want.  It is best to book in advance as much as possible to ensure that you get the one you want and to ensure you get the best possible deal.
